I've always been a believer that laughter is the best medicine. My years as both a journalist and within the police environment saw me develop something of a graveyard humour; but I truly believe laughter is one of the very best things in life. And it can be a great diffuser.

Usually, if I am stressed from work or unhappy about something, I'll pop onto YouTube, and find out out-takes, or clips of Peter Cook making Dudley Moore laugh, of Bradley Walsh dissolving into fits of giggles on the ITV TV show 'The Chase', or of Phil Schofield and Holly Willoughby corpsing on the UK TV show 'This Morning'. It doesn't matter how miserable I might be feeling, watching such scenes never fails to make me smile.

These pages contain examples of things that make me smile, in the hope that they might spread a few smiles a little wider.
